Tourist Information Centres will offer you friendly professional advice about
their special part of the Highlands.

Free information service on accommodation, events, transport, places to see
and things to do
- Area guides and reference books, maps and a wide range of
literature for your holiday reading
- Tickets for local excursions, tours and
travel, as well as for special events and activities
- Films, postcards, stamps
and a selection of local gifts and crafts.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT
Getting to Caithness
Caithness is easy to reach and travel within all year by public transport. The
following gives an idea of some of the services available:
Air Services available from Newcastle, Aberdeen, Edinburgh, with connections
from London Heathrow, with British Airways, British Airways Express or Gill
Airways. Onward connections are also available to and from Orkney and Shetland.
Rail Direct Rail services from Inverness (three trains per day, Monday to
Saturday all year, and limited service on Sunday from June to September)
Coach Daily coach services from Inverness with Scottish Citylink and Rapson's
Coaches
TRAVEL WITHIN CAITHNESS
Regular bus services operate within Caithness, to John O'
Groats, Thurso, Wick,
and all stops en route.

Tourist Information Centres.
TOURING CAITHNESS
Take a day out to Orkney with John O'
Groats Ferries, or enjoy a wildlife cruise
any afternoon between mid June to end August.
Pentland Firth Charters operate wildlife cruises from Scrabster between May and
August. For the more adventurous, North Coast Marine Adventures offer wildlife
and white-water adventures on their rigid inflatable boat from Easter until end
October, or catch the Coastliner from Wick or Thurso, and enjoy a fascinating
tour of the Caithness coastline, also incorporating a wildlife cruise.
For a change, enjoy a historical tour of Caithness which Morrison's Coaches run
once a week during the summer season.
